My Print Shop and Creative Journey: 2025 is your year to start

When I started, it was just me, a Cricut, and a heat press at the kitchen table. I made shirts, mugs, and gifts for friends and family. The excitement was real — people loved what I was creating — but the late nights of cutting and weeding vinyl? That part wasn’t sustainable. Vinyl was fun, but it limited my creativity and slowed me down.

So I moved into sublimation printing. Suddenly, I could make bright, full-color designs that looked amazing. It was a huge step forward — until I realized sublimation only worked on light-colored polyester or specialty-coated blanks. My customers wanted those same bold designs on cotton shirts, dark hoodies, and all kinds of products sublimation couldn’t touch.

That’s when I discovered DTF (Direct-to-Film printing). And it was a game changer.

How DTF (and Beyond) Transformed My Creativity

With DTF, I wasn’t boxed in anymore. I could print full-color designs with incredible detail and apply them to cotton, dark fabrics, hoodies — basically whatever my customers asked for. No more saying “no” to creative ideas. No more all-nighters wrestling with vinyl.

From there, I kept expanding — adding UV-DTF for hard goods like tumblers and glass, and continuing with sublimation for vibrant soft goods. The mix of tools gave me efficiency, freedom, and more ways to create.

And the timing of all this? Couldn’t be better.
