We are pleased to report that SF State will officially kick off Spring 2025 next week and we are very excited to welcome many students at our campus. We have been busy with our New Student Orientation this week and it is wonderful to welcome many new students here at our campus and everyone seems to have a good time so far! We want to send our deepest gratitude for your continuing support and confidence in SF State!
Meanwhile we also wish to inform you that our Summer/Fall 2025 program applications of all partnership programs will begin on February 1 and we would kindly ask all our partners to submit your student nominations/applications in your earliest convenience. Starting this year, we will be offering all students two extra benefits: 1) guaranteed housing for those who wish to live on-campus, and 2)unlimited semester long transportation pass, so students can receive more support from us during their course of study.
For Summer/Fall 2025, SF State campus will offer most courses in-person with a small handful of online courses available. Below is a list of our global programs available for your students with a short description. Please kindly encourage your students to apply for any of these programs and we look forward to receiving their applications soon!

Semester @ SF State is our most popular program that allows students who are currently studying in universities overseas to take one- to two-semester of academic courses at San Francisco State University. Students can choose from a wide variety of classes in over a 100 different disciplines on a space available basis. Students can take classes in business, engineering, design, communications, international relations, social sciences and more. All Semester@ SF State in person students have the opportunity to learn about the geographic, historical and environmental, socio-cultural and political context of the Bay Area, San Francisco and San Francisco State University through a FREE experiential course, AU 110 – Living in San Francisco. Semester@SF State students are eligible for internship after one semester of study. We will accept Fall 2025 nominations beginning February 1 through April 15, 2025.

SF State offers professionally designed academic certificate programs in which F-1 visa students can enroll. Students in these programs will be earning a professional certificate upon completing the 1-year program and be eligible for internship. This program is designed to give students a broad foundation in business administration. Taking courses in accounting, business communication, statistics, operations management, finance, information systems, management and marketing, graduates will be prepared to enroll in an MBA or accelerated MBA or launch a career in business. Through SF State activities, students will have opportunities to experience innovation firsthand and network with entrepreneurs, founders, innovators and more. This program shares the same curriculum for university partners who have official 3+1+1 Pre-MBA agreement with SF State. Students complete full program will also qualify for optional practical training.

The Business Analytics Certificate program is designed to give students a well-rounded foundation in analytics in eight courses. Taking courses from the Decision Sciences, Data Analytics, Economics, and Information Systems departments, students will be prepared to launch a career or enroll in a Master of Science program in analytics. Through SF State activities, students will have opportunities to experience innovation firsthand and network with entrepreneurs, founders, innovators and more.
The Certificate in Business Analytics program is officially starting in Spring ’25 and is now accepting Fall 2025 applications and the application deadline is May 15, 2024.

The new Digital Marketing program is designed to help students develop in-demand skills in social media marketing, content marketing, search engine optimization, marketing analytics, paid search marketing and more. Not only will students receive the Digital Marketing certificate issued by SF State upon completion of the program, they will also have an opportunity to earn two industry-recognized credentials through the American Marketing Association and the Digital Marketing Institute. This program will accept students only in Fall semester and application for Fall 2025 is now open. All admitted students will begin their course of study in Summer 2025.

This program is designed to offer international students the opportunity to acquire competencies in international business in two semesters. The I-BUS program provides a time-efficient, comprehensive experience to keep students competitive in today’s workforce. Students will acquire proficiency in fundamental areas (such as leadership, management and negotiation) and examine these skills within a global context. Students complete full program qualify for optional practical training.

The Hospitality & Tourism Management program provides a time-efficient, comprehensive experience that allow students to obtain professional skills in managing resources, multicultural cooperation and other realities of globalization so they can excel in the hospitality industry. Courses focus on key areas – such as business operations, food service and human resources – and explores these within various cultural contexts. Additionally, experienced faculty equips students with strategies for success and provides needed assistance for internship or employment opportunities. Students complete full program qualify for optional practical training.

The new Liberal and Creative Arts certificate program will offer students great opportunities to tap into a wide range of liberal and creative arts courses such as Arts, Cinema, Communication, Design, Digital Media, Humanities, International Studies, Political Science, etc. Many of these courses are also general education courses, students gain broad exposure to the humanities, arts and social sciences. Students may enroll in this certificate as a gap year, study abroad program, or standalone certificate or to complement their undergraduate studies. Students will earn credits they can transfer back to their home universities or apply to future study.

The new STEM Exploration is a program designed for undergraduate and graduate students and professionals. There are two- to four-week programs available. Customized programs and dates are available for groups, for example, the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program. Students will gain English language skills while exploring applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Student activities include site visits to experience and learn about topics including computer science, engineering, mathematics, life sciences and environmental sustainability.

This program is designed to allow students to spend summer immersed in the culture of one of the most diverse and exciting cities in the world! Students will earn university credits by taking SF State academic courses while enjoying everything San Francisco and the Bay Area have to offer. All Summer in SF in person students take 6 units/session and have the opportunity to learn about the geographic, historical and environmental, socio-cultural and political context of the Bay Area, San Francisco and San Francisco State University through a FREE experiential course, AU 110จC Living in San Francisco. This is a fun and functional opportunity for students to enrich their academic goals and worldview. All Summer in SF participants attending online or in person will attend an orientation, receive advising and support and have the opportunity to immerse themselves in life at SF State. No application fee.

The English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program curriculum provides an intensive language preparation that focuses on academic skills and university preparation. It’s designed for students seeking admission to SF State University undergraduate and graduate programs. The program includes 20 hours of instruction during the 16-week fall and spring terms and 25 hours of instruction during the ten-week summer term.
