I am often told - “I wont accept such-and-such a state nomination for my permanent (or even temporary skilled visa) because I wont live in that state”. I understand that people have many reasons to live in particular parts of Australia.
I hear this because people take certain advice and comments on blogs, forums, or from other “experts” advice that is just incorrect and incorrect often.
So when someone says this to me, I am pleased to be able to advise that there is no condition on any skilled visa that says that one must live in the sponsoring state.
There are no conditions on a permanent skilled migration visa. None.
The conditions on a temporary 491 visa relate to not living and working in certain cities of Australia. There is no mandatory condition to live in a certain state.
Just reasons to seek professional advice - from a registered Australian migration agent!
